Nhan Dan launches coverage of Dien Bien Phu Victory celebrations in five foreign languages

ABO/NDO- Nhan Dan’s special coverage of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory is now available in English, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, in addition to the Vietnamese language edition.

The main feature of the coverage in five foreign languages is the timeline of how the military campaign unfolded each day exactly 70 years ago.

There will be also articles on memories of Dien Bien Phu and how the land where the battle took place has changed today.

The content in foreign languages is part of Nhan Dan’s comprehensive coverage of the Dien Bien Phu Victory across all its publications and platforms in an effort to provide information, analyses, and pictures about the campaign to a wider readership.

The special coverage is available in six languages.

Earlier, Nhan Dan had launched a special section on the Dien Bien Phu Victory which features digitalised versions of articles from the print newspaper during the campaign in 1954.

Readers can peruse the original articles as well as the corresponding digital versions, which are presented in a modern multimedia format.

An outstanding feature of the special section is a chronology of the 56-day Dien Bien Phu Campaign in the form of a diary from March 13, 1954, to May 7, 1954.

Each daily entry includes what happened on the Dien Bien Phu battlefield, developments in other fronts and localities related to the battle of Dien Bien Phu, logistical work, the struggle on the diplomatic front, and international opinions on the fighting in Dien Bien Phu.

Speaking at the launch of the special coverage on March 21, Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh said the heroic stories about the Dien Bien Phu Victory will continue to be told by the current generation to future generations, and that Nhan Dan’s articles and reports are to serve that end.
