Tien Giang launches "Action month on food safety" in 2017

On April 17, the provincial Steering Committee of food safety and hygiene launched the "Action month on food safety" in 2017. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Huong attended this event.

The theme of the "Action month on food safety” in 2017 on "producing, trading and consuming fresh and safe foodstuff, controlling alcohol, preventing of alcohol poisoning” took place from April 15 to May 15, 2017. The "Action month on food safety" in 2017 aimed at improving the effectiveness of management in general as well as the awareness of all people on food safety, the propagation without using of impurities or industrial alcohol in wine production and using of banned substances in livestock, to ensure fresh food safety and reduce alcohol abuse.

After the launching ceremony, the inspection teams and interdepartmental inspection teams will intensify the inspection and examination to ensure food safety at production, preliminary processing, importing and circulation establishments, trading fresh foodstuffs, especially many slaughtered facilities, preliminary processing facilities, processing and supplying vegetables, meat and aquatic products, and at the same time to intensify inspection and examination of production and trading wine.
