Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People's Committee meets workers, laborers

On the afternoon of May 11, at the provincial conference Center, Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Van Huong met more than 500 workers, laborers worked at industrial clusters, industrial zones and enterprises in the province.

This is the first time that the head of the provincial government directly met and heard the concerns, aspirations as well as recommendations of the labor force to promptly remove difficulties in order to create the best conditions for working improvement environment of laborers, workers.

At the meeting, many anxieties, worries in the process of production as well as the life of workers, laborers were sent to provincial leader. Worker Nguyen Thanh Duc of Li Chuan Food Products Vietnam Co., Ltd, mentioned the issue of adjusting the minimum wage increase for workers still not to keep pace with living costs. He desired the provincial leader to have a measure to curb rising consumer price when workers received a minimum wage increase.

Worker Tran Nhat Khanh of Thuan Viet trading company, concerned about the situation of some companies who evaded paying social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance, etc… Worker Vo Thanh Dat of Viet Hung Co., Ltd raised the issue that the quality of mid-shift meal in some enterprises was still low as well as unsafe food to make workers, laborer poisoned. Many labors, workers also raised many problems such as low labor income, frequent extra shift in some businesses, traffic safety assurance, buying affordable houses, etc…

The Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong answered frankly every issue mentioned by workers, laborers. He suggested leaders of departments and agencies of the province to seriously note the comments and wishes of laborers to propose the provincial People's Committee to resolve reasonably. He also asked the trade unions in the province to further the role of representatives to protect the legitimate rights and interests as well as actively take care of material and spiritual life for workers, laborers; to coordinate enterprises to pay more attention to the life of workers, laborers, etc…

At the meeting, the Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong presented gifts to 60 laborers with difficult circumstances
