The contest was first launched in 2015 by the Editorial Board of the Communist Review, the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

It aims to promote the participation of Vietnamese citizens in community activities and seeks to increase their contributions in facilitating the country’s sustainable development.

Vietnamese individuals, agencies, and organisations from home and abroad, as well as foreigners and international organisations operating in Vietnam, are all eligible to enter the contest.

The entrants are requested to develop innovative ideas to improve such fields as education, healthcare, transport, science and technology, tourism, environmental protection, and tourism. The jury will highly welcome and appreciate initiatives deployed in border and remote areas, and sea and island regions.

Submissions should be sent to the Communist Review, 28 Tran Binh Trong street, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi, before February 28, 2018.

One first, two second, three third and five consolation prizes worth VND 200 million (US$8,800) in total will be awarded to the most outstanding entries at a ceremony scheduled for May 18, 2018.
