In attendance were former Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung; Politburo member Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education; and Politburo member Vuong Dinh Hue, Deputy Prime Minister.

Commenting at the event, Deputy PM Hue noted that President Ho Chi Minh had attached special sentiments to Ha Tinh and always followed each step forward by the local Party organisation and people during his lifetime.

During his visit to Ha Tinh on June 15, 1957, Uncle Ho encouraged the province to promote solidarity; boost production; uphold their sense of responsibility as well as labour discipline; exercise thrift and combat corruption and wastefulness; strengthen the fighting power of grassroots Party organisations; perform well self-criticism and criticism; build fine cultures and customs; and ensure order and security, Hue said.

He described the teachings not only as the President’s deep interest and valuable sentiments for Ha Tinh’s Party organisation and people, but also as a “magnetic needle” for the province during its construction and development cause.

The deputy PM spoke highly of the significant achievements Ha Tinh has attained during the past 30 years since the implementation of the Doi Moi (Renewal) policy and the 25 years of the province’s reestablishment, especially in the shifting of economic structure, the reform of administrative procedures and the enhancement of the local business climate, as well as the spiritual and material lives of the local people.

He urged the central province to focus on renovating the Party’s leadership model, to build a strong political system across all levels, to strengthen management capacity and efficiency, to accelerate administrative reforms and build government apparatuses of integrity that will wholeheartedly serve the people.

Ha Tinh needs to effectively implement the resolution of the fourth plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee on strengthening Party building and rectification, in association with the Politburo’s Directive No. 05-CT/TW on facilitating the studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle, Deputy PM Hue said, asking that the province continues working with the relevant agencies to closely monitor the operation of the Formosa company and other industrial institutions, and promptly complete compensation payments for all fish farmers relating to the Formosa marine environmental incident.

He also urged Ha Tinh to further strengthen their friendship and cooperation with localities of Laos, contributing to the building of a Vietnam-Laos borderline of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
