Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong inspects food safety at markets

On August 28, Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Food Safety and Hygiene with the leaders of some relevant department directly supervised food safety at markets of Go Cong town and Go Cong Dong district.

At the market, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong surveyed the actual situation of business, trading of small businesses. At the same time he directly checked on food hygiene and safety at the stalls selling vegetables, roots, meat, fish.

Besides, functional units under Tien Giang Deparment of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Industry and Trade and Department of Health have also conducted rapid tests and purchased many samples of food and agricultural products being sold at the market of Go Cong town and Go Cong Dong district such as: vegetarian lemongrass, vegetarian noodles, vermicelli, sour bamboo shoots, cowpea, miserable beans, pickles, choysum, pickles, water spinach, etc...

After investigating and checking the reality, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong asked the departments, authorities of Go Cong town and Go Cong Dong district to trengthen inspection and supervision on food hygiene and safety for all commodities traded in markets to ensure food safety for consumers. At the same time, there are solutions to improve, repair and arrange trade of small traders in orderly and civilized markets and ensure fire prevention.
