Shrimp breeding farmers in Tan Phu Dong get high profit

According to the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Tan Phu Dong district, the whole district has 3,084.4 hectares of saltwater shrimp farming including 1,100 breeding industry hectares, the rest is extensive farming.

Chairman of the Phu Thanh commune People's Committee said that: The whole commune has 230 hectares of aquaculture, mainly white shrimp. This year, shrimp farming situation is relatively favorable, the area of damage is less than last year. The price of white shrimp of 100 pieces per kilogram is sold from VND 102,000 - 105,000 per kilogram, higher than last year about VND 20,000 VND per kilogram. At this price, many shrimp breeding farmers get rather high interest.

According to Deputy Director of Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Tan Phu Dong district Nguyen Trung Hoa, the area bred shimp this year is slow incomparision with last year because of the weather conditions are not favorable as wall as the high risk of disease outbreak.

However, thanks to experience accumulated in shrimp farming for many years, farmers have actively delayed breeding. In addition, the local authority also regularly monitors and instructs shrimp farming techniques so the damage situation is limited. Since then, shrimp output this year is higher than the same period with the price of shrimp is high so many shrimp farmers get high interest.
