Int'l traffic safety conference to take place in HCM City, Binh Duong

The 12th International Conference of the Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS XII) is set to take place in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern province of Binh Duong, from September 18 to 20.

The information was released by the organising committee at a press briefing held in Binh Duong’s Thu Dau Mot city, on September 14.

This year, the National Traffic Safety Committee will combine the EASTS XII 2017 and the Annual Vietnam Traffic Safety Conference 2017, which aim to discuss and share scientific research results and practical experience in regards to the fields of traffic safety, sustainable transportation development and applicability in Vietnam.

The main sessions of the conference will be held in HCM City, under the theme of “Vision and Action Programme for Safe, Green and Integrated Transport”.

Accordingly, delegates will focus on discussing their experience in managing the use of personal vehicles, the application of a smart transport system, the enhancement of traffic safety among vulnerable groups and sustainable transport development, among others.

The special session which is scheduled in Binh Duong will be under the theme of “Binh Duong: Vision on safe transport system a smart and worth-living city”.

During the special session, domestic and international delegates will debate reports on Binh Duong’s development models, pay field trips to the province’s public traffic and transportation development models, in addition to commenting on the locality authorities’ solutions and policies to respond to traffic accidents and reduce traffic congestion, as well as their traffic safety strategy.

The conference offers a platform for Vietnam’s policy makers and businesses to meet with leading international experts on transportation and traffic safety, aiming to establish partnerships, learn from their experience and seek solutions to develop transportation in the country.
