The US$ 5.1 million project aims to enhance the capacity of the healthcare system in terms of maternal and child health and expand the coverage of services which facilitate Integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD), including those related to children's health, nutrition and environmental sanitation, particularly towards vulnerable children.

The project targets ensuring social inclusion and social equality for children in order to improve the quality of the country’s future human resources.

The 2017-2020 project will be implemented in Hanoi, and Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Dien Bien provinces.

Under the project, the targeted communities and staff of local healthcare systems will be updated on early child care and education, while promoting maternal and child health and fostering the implementation of an expanded programme on immunization, in addition to other programmes on improving nutrition, clean water access and environmental sanitation for children.
