Ministry of Transport leads the way in providing online public services

For the second consecutive year, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) leads the index of online public services conducted by ministries, ministerial-level agencies and agencies under the Government.

According to Le Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Information Technologies Centre under the MoT, the Vietnam Register has the highest proportion of online applications; accounting for almost 99.5% (27,882 out of 28,022 applications were registered online). It also has the highest completion rate of 95.2%.

To date, the total administrative procedures within the transport sector is 551, of which 255 public services are provided online at level 3 and 4.

The number of online applications in the transport sector has increased sharply each year; with 19,000 records in 2015; over 142,000 in 2016; and nearly 388,000 in 2017.

For the pilot project of the national one-stop customs mechanism, 12 public services of Level 3 and 4 have been officially operating through the National Portal of National Red Cross.

Statistics released by the General Department of Customs showed that by November, 2016, the number of enterprises participating in the one-stop shop mechanism of the MoT was 4,610, accounting for 53% of the total number of enterprises participating in the national one-door mechanism.
