Under the programmes, the participating parties will work together to build plans to popularise the knowledge of safe food production to the public and develop legal regulations on food safety, whilst encouraging organisations and individuals to sign commitments on safe food production.

Government ministries and sectors will closely coordinate with the VWU and the VFA to organise training courses on applying and promoting safe food production models and procedures.

The outcomes of the implementation of the joint programme will be evaluated annually and reported to the National Inter-sector Steering Committee on Food Safety.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly valued the coordination among the Government, the VFA and the VWU over the past few years, in popularising and promoting the production and business of safe food and agricultural products.

He emphasised that food safety has received great attention from the Party and State, announcing that the Government has taken drastic measures to ensure that people can consume safe food.

He asked the authorities at all levels to create the most favourable conditions possible for members of social and political organisations, particularly the members of the VWU and the VFA, to participate in the programme.
