20 outstanding contributors to UNESCO Vietnam honoured

ABO/NDO – The Hanoi People's Committee held a ceremony in Hanoi on April 20 to present the commemorative “For the cause of UNESCO Vietnam” medal to 20 individuals in Hanoi, who have made great contributions to the construction and development of UNESCO Vietnam.

In attendance were Party Central Committee members: Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, who is also Chairman of Vietnam's National UNESCO Committee, and Chairman of Hanoi municipal People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Trung highly appreciated the important efforts and contributions made by Hanoi city in general, and the individuals who have received an award at the event in particular, in preserving and promoting cultural heritage in the capital.

He suggested that, in the near future, Hanoi should continue to pay greater attention to the construction and development of UNESCO Vietnam, while preserving and introducing Hanoi's diverse cultural and intangible cultural heritages to the people and international friends.
