Following the Ministry of Health’s guidance on promoting surveys on patient satisfaction and updating medical records online, the Hanoi health sector has directed local public and private hospitals to directly examine patients’ levels of satisfaction at least once every three months and health workers’ satisfaction at least once a year, while encouraging medical staff to fill out surveys using the software provided.

The Hanoi’s department has also requested updated online information regarding hospital name, the number of planned hospital beds, the real number of hospital beds, and the name of each hospital’s departments and rooms.

In addition, the department set up a delegation to survey the satisfaction of patients and their relatives throughout 2018, led by its Deputy Head Tran Thi Nhi Ha.

The mission will focus on surveying the issues that lead to patients’ dissatisfaction, summing up comments both on satisfaction and dissatisfaction of the patients and their family members, and identifying the problems making the patient unhappy, then proposing measures to improve the hospitals’ quality and reporting the results to the Hanoi Department of Health for guidance.

In 2017, Hanoi carried out a survey on 41 local public hospitals.
