Tien Giang province proposed to recognize 16 safe zones

ABO - The delegation of Ministry of Home Affairs, led by Deputy Director of the Department of Local Government Nguyen Van Duc under Ministry of Home Affairs has just worked with Tien Giang province People's Committee on the survey result to recognize safe zones.

Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Nghia, leaders of departments and relevant districts and communes worked with the delegation.

The delegation reported the actual survey results in 16 communes in 7 districts, city and towns in the province, which were asked to recognize safe zone in the resistance period against the French and the Americans, according to the Prime Minister's Decision No. 897 of May 27, 2016.

Through reviewing the criteria, members of the delegation contributed comments and instructed localities to amend and supplement documents to prove socio-economic characteristics and special important events and complete the scientific records for the Ministry of Home Affairs to submit to the Prime Minister for approval.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Nghia instructed the relevant local agencies, carefully to review the criteria and soon complete the dossier according to the contributions of the delegation; assigning tasks to related units to quickly complete the records and procedures for recognition, etc... in order to promptly recognize the contributions of the proposed communes of safe zones in Tien Giang province.
