Tien Giang province harvests winter-spring rice 2018-2019

Most of the area concentrated in Cai Be district, Cai Lay district, Cai Lay town and Go Cong Dong district, with an average yield of seven tons/ha, equivalent to the previous winter-spring crop. However, the design, the quality of rice is superior, etc... due to advantage weather changes during the whole season, especially the sufficient water resources in the districts of Go Cong project serving rice growth and development.

In addition, farmers were actively to take part in the production of large-scale rice fields, VietGAP rice production model, smart rice production model, etc ... so that they actively applied the science and technology into cultivation, restricting the use of plant protection drugs, increasing the use of organic fertilizers, using motorized machinery instead of manual labor, thus reducing the production costs of this crop significantly compared to previous years.

Currently, the purchase price of rice in the field has ranged from VND 6,600 to VND 6,800/kg for high quality rice varieties and aromatic rice. Particularly, IR50404 rice varieties purchased from 5,000 VND to 5,200 VND/kg, down about 500 VND to 700 VND/kg compared to the time before the lunar New Year.
