Director of the Tien Giang provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Nguyen Thi Men said that, after 2 days of implementation, three temporary animal quarantine points controlled about 100 piggy trucks, with thousands of pigs from provinces, cities in the North, Central and South going into or across Tien Giang province. The tight implementation will contribute to preventing African swine fever from entering Tien Giang province.

As noted, after being stopped, pig trucks were checked by many staff groups of Tien Giang province Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary. They checked the seal on the car, quarantine paper, provincial papers, clinically checking the pig on trucks and conducting disinfection spray. If trucks did not have enough documents, the functional would force to return.

Three temporary animal quarantine points deployed in Tien Giang province including the first point at the way leading to the Highway Express (at the beginning of the provincial road 878, in Tam Hiep Commune, Chau Thanh District); the second point at the National Highway 1A (in Tan Huong Commune, Chau Thanh District) and the third point in the National Highway 50 near the My Loi Bridge toll collection station (in Binh Dong Commune, Go Cong town).
