Tien Giang meeting marks Vietnam Day of Persons with Disabilities

ABO – On April 17, the Tien Giang Association for Protection of Poor Patients, Disabled People and Orphan Children in coordination with the Tien Giang province Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs to organize a meeting to celebrate Vietnam Day of Persons with Disabilities (April 18), drawing the participation of more than typical 119 disabled people.

In 2018, from mobilizing sources, the Tien Giang Association for Protection of Poor Patients, Disabled People and Orphan Children organized activities to sponsor 5.492 disabled people with a budget of nearly 3 billion VND, including: cataract surgery for 630 disabled patients; presenting 162 wheelchairs and shaking cars to disabled patients; building and repairing 6 great unity houses for disabled patients; presenting 256 scholarships to students with disabilities; visiting and presenting gifts to 4,076 disabled patients in difficult circumstances, etc…

At the meeting, disabled people shared difficulties and efforts in life to integrate into the community. The Tien Giang Association for Protection of Poor Patients, Disabled People and Orphan Children also gave 119 gifts to disable people (each worth 500,000 VND).

Chairman of the Tien Giang Association for Protection of Poor Patients, Disabled People and Orphan Children Phan Van Ha expressed deep thanks to businesses and benefactors who have worked together to take care of disable people, a very humane and meaningful work; praising the will and energy to overcome the adversity of disable people.

He hoped that in the coming time, the unit will continue to receive the support and assistance of units, businesses and benefactors in and outside the province, together with the province to take care of disable people in particular, the poor in general, helping them to overcome difficulties and confidently integrate into the community.
