Cho Gao district strives to be new rural commune district by 2020

ABO - Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province is one of the localities that have made great efforts to promote the national target program on new rural construction. Up to now, the whole district has 9/18 communes, reaching 50% of communes meeting the criteria and launching new rural communes.

The district target in 2019 is to focus on basically completing the criteria and launching new rural communes for the remaining 9 communes. At the same time, in 2019, the district strives to complete one more criteria to improve the district to achieve 5 criteria for building a new rural district in order to reach the target of 100% of the new rural district by 2020.

In order to achieve the goal of building new rural areas according to national standards, Cho Gao district has focused on real implementation through the theme of "Cho Gao joint efforts to build new rural". The socio-political organizations in the locality have all developed specific action programs. The Veterans Association has a movement of "Veterans Association to jointly build new rural"; the Elderly Association launched the movement "The elderly - a shining example" and the movement "All people take care of, support and promote the role of the elderly"; etc...

The theme of the competition "Cho Gao to jointly build a new rural" has been also widely responded positively by people through forms such as donating land to build roads, contributing money and efforts to consolidate the transport-irrigation network in service of production and construction of new rural areas, etc…

Besides, the district strengthens investment resources for the National Target Program to build new rural areas. Only in the past year, Cho Gao district has mobilized over 181 billion VND of investment in new rural construction in the area. As a result, in 2018, the district had 3 more communes to launch a new rural commune. The district now has 9/18 communes meeting new rural criteria. For the criteria of new rural district, Cho Gao district also as achieved 4/9 criteria.

In 2019, Cho Gao continues to mobilize more than 364.3 billion VND of investment capital for the purpose of building a new countryside. In particular, 5 communes registered to meet the new rural standards this year will be invested over 211.6 billion VND; the remaining 4 communes registered to meet standards in 2020 strive to complete in 2019. Thus, if it is planned, 100% of communes in Cho Gao district will complete and launch new rural communes by the end of 2019.
