Summer youth volunteer campaign produces practical results

ABO/NDO – The 2019 summer volunteer campaign for youth, that is taking place nationwide from May to the end of August 2019, has attracted the participation of hundreds of thousands of young people resulting in practical outcomes for the community.

According to the Steering Committee for summer volunteer campaign of Dak Nong province, more than 2,600 volunteers joined hands to build eight lighting projects for 15.3km of rural roads worth VND555 million and build two sports playgrounds for the youth worth VND120 million.

During the campaign in this summer, volunteers also presented more than 1,600 sets of gifts to policy beneficiaries and needy households.

*In Kien Giang province, more than 5,000 students have taken part in summer volunteer campaigns who helped localities to repair 76km and build 5.2km or rural roads worth VND730 million.

They also participated in constructing 10 bridges worth VND930 million, repairing 17 houses and building 34 other houses for the locals.

*Meanwhile, 270 volunteers from the armed forces of Tay Ninh province joined hands to build a lighting system for 6km of rural roads worth over VND100 million. They also helped to repair 19 houses for needy people and upgraded 40km or rural roads.

*In Thanh Hoa province, more than 6,000 young people volunteered to donate more than 4,600 units of blood since early of this year to the end of July.
