According to report, Tien Giang province is the 11th province with the highest numberof dengue fever cases out of 20 provinces in the South. By early September 2019, the number of dengue fever cases in the province was over 2,900, up 183% over the same period, including 2 deaths (in My Tho city and Cho Gao district).

According to data from the Center for Disease Control of Tien Giang province, the current number of dengue fever cases has exceeded the epidemic index in 4 consecutive weeks, including districts with the highest number of cases as Cai Be and Chau Thanh, Cai Lay, Cai Lay town and My Tho city. By this time, the whole province has handled 582/588 dengue fever outbreaks and it is predicted to be the peak of the disease with the number of cases to increase rapidly and complicate.

Vice Chairman of the PPC Tran Van Dung highly appreciated the responsibility and disease prevention solutions of the Steering Committee at all levels. He suggested that it should focus on maintaining grassroots support in medical treatment to prevent deaths.
