Various activities held to celebrate 80th anniversary of Vanguard Children Union

ABO/NDO – Various practical activities and effective youth projects with children at their centre are being held across the nation on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Vanguard Children Union (May 15, 1941-2021).
The Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Vanguard Children Union has announced its official logo to commemorate the anniversary, stylised from the number 80 with the three colours of red, green and yellow.
Of which, the number 8 symbolises the union’s process of maturity, development, innovation and its flexibility and dynamism. The number 0 features the badge of the union in its centre, supported by a stylised red scarf resembling a childhood kite.

* On April 18, the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union and Ho Chi Minh Vanguard Children Union’s chapters of Thuan An City (Binh Duong Province) inaugurated a playground project for children. Covering an area of 95 m2, the project began in March 2021, with a total value of VND72 million. On the occasion, the Thuan An City Vanguard Children Union’s Council awarded two projects, each worth VND3 million, to local children in difficult circumstances with good academic results.
* On the same day, the Youth Union, Vanguard Children Union’s Council, and Department of Education and Training of Hanoi organised the final round of the 26th Hanoi Youth Informatics Contest for 240 local students, divided into two groups, primary and secondary schools. The best contestants will be selected to participate in the 27th National Youth Informatics Contest, scheduled to take place in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province in early July.
* Last week, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and Ky Son District People's Committee (Nghe An Province) collaborated with the Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper to begin construction on a bridge in Luu Thang Village, Chieu Luu Commune, Ky Son District, to support locals and students in the upcoming rainy season. The 120 m long bridge will cost VND780 million, the finances having been donated by various organisations, businesses, Youth Union members and philanthropists within a month. It is expected the work will be completed before the 2021 flood season.
