Hanoi Open University receives Labour Order

ABO/NDO- The Hanoi Open University held a ceremony on November 1 to celebrate its 30th founding anniversary (1993-2023) and receive the Labour Order, first class, and the Government’s emulation flag.

The event was attended by Vice President and First Vice Chairwoman of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

Speaking at the event, Rector of Hanoi University Nguyen Thi Nhung noted with pride, that over its 30-year history, the university has provided qualified human resources for the society, with more than 200,000 engineers, bachelors, masters, and doctors.

The university has also made positive contributions to the building of a life-long society and has taken the lead in implementing open and distance e-learning, and promoting equality of access to education, she added.

While extending his congratulations to the Hanoi Open University, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son hailed the university as a pioneer in eliminating age barriers in education, by organising distance learning facilities in nearly 40 provinces and cities across the country.

The university has also been active in applying modern technology, helping learners to access lectures and knowledge anytime or anywhere, thus eliminating the barriers of space and time, and ensuring education equity for all people, whether they are in mountainous, remote, or island areas.

In addition, the university has carried out many scientific researches benefiting the community.

He asked the university to attach great importance to improving the quality of teaching staff, as they are one of the most decisive factors contributing to training quality.

It is also necessary to diversify their training programmes and teaching methods, and renovate and upgrade infrastructure, he added.
