Bas-relief sculpture featuring President Ho and soldiers of 308 Infantry Division inaugurated in Phu Tho
ABO/NDO- The Ministry of Defence held a ceremony on April 8 to inaugurate a bas-relief sculpture entitled ‘Uncle Ho talks with officers and soldiers of 308 Infantry Division’ at Hung Kings Temple historical site in Phu Tho Province.
The arc-shaped bronze sculpture is 28.16m long and 10.99m high. It was renovated from a stone sculpture, which was created in 2001.
Established in 1949, Division 308 or the Pioneer Army under the 12th Army Corps, is the first mobile regular unit of the Vietnam People's Army.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Defence General Phan Van Giang hailed the inauguration of the project as a meaningful activity in celebration of the 2024 Hung Kings Temple Festival, the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of South and National Reunification, the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, and the 80th founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army.
The sculpture aims to educate the younger generation on patriotism, national pride, the Party’s revolutionary tradition, and the great image of President Ho Chi Minh, as well as the national solidarity and glorious tradition of the Vietnamese people’s army, he said.
