Three export commodities earn more than 20 billion USD

ABO/VNA - Three export commodities have earned Vietnam more than 20 billion USD in revenue each so far this year, according to latest statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Phones and parts were the biggest hard currency earner with nearly 34.4 billion USD, followed by textile-garment; computers, electronic products and components.

It is noteworthy that this is the first time textile-garment and computers-electronics have touched the mark of 20 billion USD in export earnings for the period from the beginning of the year to September 15.

In combination, the three groups of commodities grossed almost 75.6 billion USD, accounting for 45 percent of the country’s total export value.

The country shipped overseas 168.6 billion USD worth of goods, while spending 163 billion USD on imports. The figures represented annual increases of 16.3 and 11.7 percent year on year respectively.
