Provincial leaders received the Consul General of the Republic of Cuba

On the morning of May 11, Deputy Secretary of Tien Giang provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong and leaders of provincial departments welcomed Mr. Berabé Gracía Valino, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh city as part of his ongoing visit to Tien Giang province.

Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong expressed his respect for the traditional brotherhood of two nations and two peoples. Apart from diplomatic activities of two countries, in the past, Tien Giang and Cuba have had many effective cultural exchanges and economic and social development.

At the meeting, Tien Giang provincial People's Committee and Mr. Beraba Gracia Valino unified the important contents of the Cuban trade investment promotion conference to take place in Tien Giang in mid-June. According to the agreement, the meeting will be attended by provincial leaders, departments and enterprises of the Mekong Delta provinces. The conference will introduce the potential of investment cooperation in Cuba and the Mekong Delta.

Mr Berabé Gracía Valino thanked the friendly reception and positive support of the province for his visit to Vietnam, especially the province's support for the Cuban trade investment promotion conference in June. He hoped that the mutual support and assistance of two nations will continue to be more better in the future.

Cuba and Vietnam established diplomatic relations from December 1960, and since then two countries have had a good relationship with each other. Cuba is a country that has developed strongly in biotechnology, medicine and the environment. These are fields which Tien Giang wishes to cooperate, share experiences. Cuba is famous for its medical achievements. The average life expectancy of its people is very high, reaching 76.21 years old.
