Tien Giang is the largest fruit depot in the country with the advantage of attracting tourists including Australian tourists. The province's export turnover to Australia in the first six months of 2017 was USD32.69 million, increased 86% compared to the same period, with items such as rice, clothing, seafood, rice paper, handicrafts, shoes and bag.

Tien Giang province highly appreciates the support and assistance of Australian NGOs for the province, whereby the province has received more than VND17 billion from organizations for eye care activities, giving gifts to the poor, giving scholarships to poor students, installing water purification systems. In addition, the Tien Giang University also has receives a large amount of volunteers from Australia to teach English at the school.

Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong expressed that the Australian Consul General in HCM city Karen Lanyon will be the bridge to introduce Australian businesses to invest in the province in the fields of tourism, restaurants, hotels, agriculture, import and export of fruits, especially dragon fruit in Australia, etc… He added that Tien Giang province will continue to maintain good cooperation with Australia in the coming time; the province will organize many delegations to visit and seek opportunities for cooperation with Australia in the coming years.
