At a reception for a visiting delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs, led by its Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Thang, in Vientiane on November 15, the Deputy PM underlined that the two ministries should enhance their collaboration to fulfill their assigned tasks more effectively as they are important agencies for the operation of the State apparatus.

He hailed the visit made by the Vietnamese delegation, saying that it took place amid the celebrations for the Viet Nam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year, the 55th anniversary of the diplomatic ties and 40 years since the signing of the Treaty on Amity and Cooperation Agreement between the two nations.

The visit will contribute to fostering the traditional friendship between the two nations in general and the two ministries in particular, he affirmed.

Over the past few years, the two ministries have cooperated in exchanging information and experience in issues related to state and local administration, administrative borders, civil servants, emulation and rewards, religion and archives, according to Thang.

The Vietnamese ministry has held numerous workshops and experience exchanges, while offering short-term training courses for the Lao officials, he said.

In the future, the two sides will continue their cooperation across multiple fields, including the exchange of delegations, information and experience in related areas, he added.
