Hosting the outgoing diplomat in Hanoi, on February 7, the State leader affirmed that the consolidation and promotion of the Vietnam-China friendly neighbourliness and comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership in a stable and healthy fashion is both the responsibility and an objective requirement, in line with the fundamental and long-term interests of the two countries’ people and beneficial for peace, stability and development in the region and throughout the world.

This is also Vietnam’s consistent guideline and strategic choice, he emphasised.

President Quang suggested that both sides strengthen their political trust through high-level meetings; improve the efficiency of the existing cooperation mechanisms between the ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries; facilitate people-to-people exchanges; and persist in satisfactory handling any differences and maintaining long-term peace and stability in the East Sea, thus creating favourable conditions for the preservation of the healthy development in the bilateral relations.

He expressed his belief that in his new position, the Chinese diplomat would make continuous contributions to strengthening the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in an extensive manner.

For his part, Ambassador Hong Xiaoyong affirmed that the Chinese Party, State and people attach significant importance to developing their friendly relations with the Vietnamese Party, State and people, pledging to join together with Vietnam to unceasingly deepen the traditional friendship, expand their win-win cooperation, and further accelerate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
