Cuban Embassy celebrates 60th anniversary of revolution

ABO/NDO – Cuba is an example to developing countries, including Vietnam, in maintaining independence, sovereignty and national pride, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has affirmed.

Attending a ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution held by the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi on January 9, Dung said that the Cuban revolution has developed firmly and gained great achievements, despite changes in the regional and international situation and challenges and difficulties caused by embargoes.

He took the occasion to thank the Cuban people for their wholehearted support for Vietnam.
The Vietnamese people are proud of having Cuban comrades and brothers by their side during the past struggle for national liberation and current national building and safeguarding, the official said.
 
He affirmed the Vietnamese Party, State and people’s determination to continue consolidating and developing the Vietnam-Cuba traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
 
Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera highlighted the special brotherhood and solidarity between Cuba and Vietnam.
 
The two countries have intensified cooperation and shared experience in health, agriculture, biotechnology, science, education, and education, she stated, suggesting the two countries intensify bilateral trade and facilitate Vietnamese enterprises’ investment in Cuba.
 
The success of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959 put an end to the Batista dictatorial regime and the 500 years of the colonial rule in Cuba. It was one of the most influential political events in Latin America in the 20th century
