She expressed her delight at progress in the Vietnam-UAE cooperation over the years, noting that the UAE has become one of Vietnam’s leading partners in the Middle East.

The Vice President briefed the embassy’s staff on recent socio-economic development and external relations of the country, especially Vietnam’s winning of a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure with high votes.

She also highlighted major outcomes of the fifth Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) as well as Vietnam’s active engagement in the event.

Ambassador to the UAE Trinh Vinh Quang pledged that the embassy will work harder to fulfill all tasks assigned by the Party and State.

During her stay in the UAE from June 17-18, Vice President Thinh had a working session with leaders of Nakheel & Limitless Group – a major state-owned from of the UAE operating in the area of real estate, resort and entertainment. Established in 2000, the Dubai-based firm is running projects in 87 countries, including the US$550 million Ha Long Star project in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province.

The Vice President affirmed that Vietnam highly values partnership with the UAE, especially in economy.

She lauded the UAE and Nakheel & Limitless Group in particular for investing in Vietnam with many big infrastructure projects.

The Vietnamese Government always welcomes and is willing to create favourable conditions for UAE investors to operate in Vietnam, she stated.

The Vice President said that Ha Long is one of the most beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites with convenient transport connection thanks to the inauguration of Van Don International Airport, seaports and the Hanoi-Ha Long and Van Don-Ha Long expressways.

She committed that the Government of Vietnam will support the implementation of the project, suggesting the firm speed up its project with priority to using local labourers.

Leaders of Nakheel & Limitless Group spoke highly of the tourism and agricultural development potential of Vietnam, a promising market for UAE investors. They expressed their hope that the Vietnamese Government will design preferential policies to attract more investors from the Middle East, while considering the launching of a direct air route linking Vietnam and the UAE.

The firm is calling for the involvement of international investors to expand the scale of the Ha Long Star project, they noted, inviting the Vice President to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the project slated for late this year.
