Addressing the event, Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of Defence and head of the MOD’s steering committee for Vietnam’s participation in UN peacekeeping operations, encouraged the deployed officers to overcome difficulties and perform the assigned tasks to the highest stand possible, while upholding the national traditions in the process of implementing duties and promoting the image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” to international friends.

On behalf of the seven officers, Lieut. Col. Luong Truong Vinh expressed his great pride in receiving the President’s decision and affirmed their readiness to take over the UN peacekeeping missions with their strongest determination.

He asserted that all the seven officers would always strictly obey the discipline of the Vietnam People’s Army and the UN’s regulations, consciously preserve and promote the image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in the international working environment, and help each other to completely fulfill the assigned duties, contributing to effectively performing the tasks in an important phase of the project on Vietnam participating in the UN peacekeeping operations during 2015-2020 and the following years.
