This is the largest crude oil vessel of its kind ever received by Dung Quat Oil Refinery after its five years of operation and also the first vessel received after the SPM system upgraded its capacity from 110,000 DWT to 150,000 DWT.

Earlier, Dung Quat Oil Refinery received 397 cargo ships carrying between 80,000 - 110,000 tonnes of crude oil each, to serve its production.

After its upgrade, Dung Quat Oil Refinery is now able to source crude oil from various regions in the world, improving its efficiency and saving around US$10-15 million each year.

Since it began commercial operation in 2010, Dung Quat Oil Refinery has received nearly 31.3 million tonnes of crude oil to turn out 28 million tonnes of finished products to help stabilise the domestic energy market and ensure national energy security.
