More US investment flows in Viet Nam
A new US investment flow has been recorded in Viet Nam, confirmed head of the Foreign Investment Agency, under the Ministry of Planning and Investment Do Nhat Hoang.
Over the past few months of this year, a number of US business delegations visited Viet Nam to seek cooperative and investment opportunities.
Especially, the working visit of the US delegation led by the US Department of Commerce has shown that Viet Nam has become a crucial commercial partner of the US.
Many US-invested projects have been launched such as the US $20 billion power project financed by Exxon Mobil and the US$1.29 billion entertainment project by the US-based Good Choice Ltd. Co.
The US large trading corporations investing in Viet Nam will pave the way for the US Small and Medium-sized enterprises, especially when Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreements negotiations will be completed next year, said Chief Executive Officer at Robenny Corporation Robert Tran.
Besides signing cooperative projects in fields of energy, aviation and heavy industry, other US companies operating in agriculture, tourism, education and finance have come to study Viet Nam’s investment environment and market, he added.
The US is among the top 10 largest nations and territories investing in Viet Nam. Over the past 20 years, as many as 700 US projects have been realized in Viet Nam with a total investment of more than US$11 billion.
Since early 2014, US investors have pumped money into five projects in Viet Nam. More operating in the fields of infrastructure and thermal power are showing their interests in the country.
