However, disbursed capital during the period was 10% higher than that of a year earlier, estimated at USD4.1 billion.

The Ministry said that there were significant changes in disbursement of ODA and preferential capital, especially Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and World Bank - funded programmes.

Over the last nine months, some programmes and projects with large, signed ODA capital, were the Japan-funded second Economic Management and Competitiveness Credit (EMCC-2) at USD147.6 million, Japan-funded Thai Binh 1 Power Plant and its transmission line building at USD358.1 million and World Bank-funded Vietnam’s road asset management at USD251.7 million.

MPI associated with the World Bank to organise meetings to check ODA projects with slow disbursement and the ministry coordinated with Japan to discuss solutions to prevent negative movements and corruption in transport projects which use ODA capital.
