Workshop focuses on agricultural restructuring
Agricultural restructuring needs to begin from restructuring the system of agricultural product purchasing as well as the inputs and outputs market for farmers.

Politburo member and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan made the recommendation at the workshop on agricultural restructuring in Vietnam which was held in Hanoi on January 17.
The participants said that the State and Government should issue new essential policies for agricultural restructuring, especially those on science and technology applications for production and processing.
The reasonable policies would help reduce production costs and increase the competitiveness of Vietnam’s agricultural products in domestic and abroad markets, contributing to the sustainable development of the country’s agricultural sector.
Addressing the workshop, VFF Chairman Nhan said that the co-operatives have to be adjusted, restructured and connected together in order to develop the chain of product supply, production, process and consumption as well as improve the competitiveness of products.
He asked the ministries and branches to focus on agricultural land planning, determining strategic products, investing in agricultural and rural infrastructure and developed domestic markets and exports.
He also emphasised that it is necessary to form a national production system for agricultural goods and build a national breeding centre providing farmers with high quality and high-yield breeds, as well as strengthen the link between scientists and farmers and promote agricultural insurance project.
