Lao Cai border gate unloads first cargo of Lunar New Year

The Kim Thanh 2 border gate in the northwestern province of Lao Cai started the Lunar New Year of 2015 off with the arrival of trucks carrying fertilizer from China.

The trucks carrying nearly 200 tonnes of fertilizer from China

The trucks carried nearly 200 tonnes of fertilizer imported by An Binh Export-Import Company to serve the agricultural production in northern plains cities and provinces.

The International Kim Thanh 2 border gate links the mountainous northern province of Lao Cai and China’s Yunnan province.

The value of Lao Cai province’s imports and exports through border gates reached more than VND2 trillion (US$93.78 million), with revenues of US$2.1 billion.

The operation of Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway in Septemeber 2014 is expected to promote Vietnam’s trade with China's southwestern regions in the future.
