Mekong Expo 2015 kicks off in Can Tho city
The annual international trade fair, Mekong Expo 2015, themed ‘Strengthening co-operation to develop high-quality industrial and handicraft products’, officially kicked off on April 27at the International Exhibition & Fair Centre in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.

The six-day expo features 350 booths from more than 330 both domestic and foreign enterprises.
The stalls feature high-quality industrial products and appliances as well as the diverse specialties and tourist services of the localities.
Additionally, modern wood products and handicraft products for export and domestic consumption are being showcased at the event.
The expo also introduces agricultural projects, trade stimulus measures and industrial products serving agriculture and rural development.
A wide variety of seminars and trade promotion events are being held to attract numerous businesses and visitors.
On the occasion, a map of Vietnam made of more than 2.6 tonnes of fruits is on display from April 27 to May 2. The 62.4 square metre map weighs nearly 4.9 tonnes and was made of 40 types of fruit specialties of the Mekong River Delta region including blue dragon, orange, mango, plum, grapes, grapefruit and green tea.
Notably, the map clearly shows Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel), raising public awareness of protecting the country’s borders.
