Newly established enterprises in first four months up 9.7%

The number of newly established enterprises in the first four months of the year reached more than 28,200, up 9.7% over the same period last year.

The General Statistics Office said registered capital by these new enterprises also rose by 13.3% to VND162.5 trillion (US$7.5 billion).

In April alone, nearly 9,200 new enterprises were formed, creating jobs for 162.800 workers.

In the four months leading up to April, the number of enterprises forced to close temporarily was 19,035, up 4.5% year on year, while another 3,249 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, down 0.8%.

During the same period, 6,316 companies resumed operations, up 7.7% from the previous year.
