Garment sector earns over USD12 billion from exports
Garment and textile export turnover reached USD12.18 billion in the first six months of 2015, a 10.26% increase compared to the same period last year.

The US is still the biggest importer of Vietnam’s garment and textile products, making up 42% of the country’s total at USD5.18 billion, up over 11.01%. It was followed by the EU at USD1.45 billion, up 8.2%.
In the Japanese and Korean markets, garment and textile exports were valued at USD1.3 billion and USD948 million, up 7.3% and 8.33%, respectively. Vietnam is now the second biggest garment and textile exporter in the two markets after China and the country is continuing to expand market share.
The Vietnam National Garment and Textile Group (Vinatex) earned USD1.7 billion from exports in the six months, a year-on-year rise of 10.7%. The group’s revenue hit VND24.2 trillion during the period, up 9.6%.
