Tien Giang attracts foreign tourists

According to Tien Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, there are over 641,000 tourists to Tien Giang, including over 217,000 foreign tourists. The total revenue reachs 1,772 billion, increasing 13 percent against the same period last year while revenue of traveller accounted for 1.5 percent.

Deputy Director of Tien Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Tan Phong said that tourists to Tien Giang has been more increased in recent years, with the average rate of 10 percent, especially foreign tourists.

In 2014, Tien Giang welcomed 1.4 million visitors including 600,000 foreign tourists. Since 2011, Tien Giang signed affiliated cooperation program with the provinces in eastern coastal cluster of Mekong Delta such as Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long and Ho Chi Minh City. Whereby, the link’s goal to create quality tourism products, to meet the needs of tourists to Tien Giang province in particular and the Mekong Delta in general being more increased.

In the future, the tourism of Tien Giang will develop and build a priority system of tourism products, especially those products with its own characteristics with the competitiveness to meet the needs of the market tours including foreign tourists market particularly.
