Deputy Minister Le Dinh Tho said that to implement the Government Resolution No. 19/NQ-CP on tasks and key measures to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness during the 2015-2016 period, the transport sector is focusing on its restructuring tasks including removing difficulties for enterprises in the last six months of 2015.
Reporting on the results over the past months, Director of the Transport Department under the Ministry of Transportation (MoT) Tran Bao Ngoc revealed that the ministry has advised and submitted to the government several legal documents and projected management plans related to transport, including policy mechanisms to efficiently develop coach station networks and operation of buses.
To promote the development of transport and reduce time and cost, the MoT has facilitated construction projects right from the beginning of 2015. To date, 59 projects have been completed and 31 are soon to be carried out.
In addition to speeding up infrastructure development and quality management, the ministry has also strengthened solutions to repair damages incurred for transport projects. Online public services are also being widely deployed such as online driving licence granting and simplifying procedures relating to vehicle registration.
At the conference, representatives of transport companies gave comments and suggestions to the ministry and received direct and clear answers from leaders of the MoT and its advisory bodies, focusing on tackling barriers in transparent service quality, the health of the business environment, traffic safety, and effective control of overloaded vehicle.
Minister Thang said that all recommendations from businesses at the dialogue would be responded to thoroughly by the ministry, as well as being recorded for the finalisation of additional legal documents and laws to facilitate businesses.
He requested deputy ministers directly address issues outlined at the event. The minister also asked related departments under the ministry to continue to collect opinions from the business community and set-up a hotline for timely service.
