These are some of the targets for EVN for the 2015-2020 period set by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai while addressing the group’s patriotic emulation congress in Hanoi on August 21.

The group was asked to step up its restructuring in accordance with a Prime Minister-approved roadmap, focusing on perfecting its apparatus, and developing power sources and the electrical grid.

He requested EVN’s leaders diversify emulation movements among its officers and staff members in order to encourage worker initiatives to improve technology and increase labour productivity.

The group should also prioritise developing human resources in order to build up a highly qualified staff he noted.

On the occasion, he presented EVN with Prime Minister’s certificate of merit in recognition of its achievements over the past years.

According to an EVN report, the group has fulfilled its key task of ensuring national energy security, and improving electricity supply to islands, border and rural areas. Emulation movements have been implemented widely across the group, with positive and effective outcomes.

Over the past five years, EVN has put into operation power plants with a total capacity of 18,000 MW, connected 8 out of 12 island districts to the national grid, and helped 98.22% of households in rural areas nationwide to access electricity.
