The National Food Authority (NFA) of the Philippines concluded the bidding for the import of 750,000 tonnes of rice, including 250,000 tonnes of well-milled rice for this year and 500,000 tonnes of the same variety for 2016.
Vietnam’s rice price was set at US$426.6.
Meanwhile, Thailand also agreed to sell 300,000 tonnes for the price equaling Vietnam’s offer.
The first set of rice imports, at 125,000 tonnes, will be delivered in November, while the next 125,000 tonnes are due for delivery by the end of December.
The next year’s shipments will be brought to the country in January, February and March.
