Pineapple rises by VND6,000-6,200 per kilogram

According  to Chairman of Farmer Association in Thanh My commune (Tan Phuoc district) Cao Van Sang, prices of pineapple current has risen drastically.

Tranders have agreed to buy pineapple at VND6,000-6,200 per kilogram, an increase of almost double in comparision with the same period last year. With this price, the prodution value of each hectare planted pineapple gets VND100 million, in which famer profits by 50-60 percent of the total value.

According to Tan Phuoc district Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the local has formed a pineapple-growing area with 16,000 hectares as the largest area of the province.

From the beginning of year until now, famers harvested nearly 13,500 hectares of pineapple with the average yield by 19,6 tons per hectare and 263,000 tons of pineapple trade to meet the need of consumer demand and export process.
