Accordingly, the Chairman inspected the steel dam in Xoai Hot canal which was used for preventing from salinity intrusion as well as reserving additional freshwater for Dong Tam B.O.O in case of the salinity in Tien river rising to protect thousands of hectares of cultivated crops in the region.

At Lang Cai canal in Phu My commune, Tan Phuoc district, after listening the salinity intrusion situation into commune’s region through this canal from Long An province with salinity level up to 1 gram per litre, the Chairman of the PPC asked the commune to monitor closely the salinity intrusion situation in order to have timely measures.

At Ngu Hiep commune, Cai Lay district), the Chairman of the PPC said that: The salinity intrusion situattion has currently decreased but this will be more complicated in next time. Durian is the staple plant in commune but its tolerance of salt is very weak. So that, the agricultural branch of district and commune have to actively mobilize people to dredging ditches for storing up fresh water for irrigation, and  promptly preventing salt water to avoid damage.
