Meeting to discuss anti-drought and salinity solutions
On March 21, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong chaired the meeting to discuss measures for anti-drought and and salinity intrusion in the province.

At the meeting, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong directd many water supply units to promote the progress of the pipeline conveying water construction for life, completing early the connection of the water supply system of two water supply companies as the proposed plan. Two companies co-cordinated with provincial departments, industries and local to search solutions for water supply in remaining areas lacking water in Freshening water Go Cong area and ensuring clean water for Tan Phu Dong district.
For rice production, the eastern locals needed to calculate and determine the rice area, which had ability to save, to concentrate on pumping water supply, localizing area, which had not ability to save, to economize water for life. At the same time, the locals implemented interior filed irrigation, surveying calnals and regional sewer to construct as well as repair, setting up the plen for the next season.
For the western region, Chairman of the PPC agreed with the policy on covering steel dams according to the local’s suggestion and entrusted the local agricultural sector with defining location as eall as the time for covering each dam, steering to provide salinity measurement device to each homlet, requesting locals to fully exploit the the anti-salinity’s capability of flood control embankment, active allocating fund to cover temporary dams, reinforcing the damaged sewer windows.
In addition, Chairman of the PPC also directed the departments, locals, units to raise responsibility for the prevention drought and salinity intrusion and, strengthening the propaganda, monitoring closely salinity development.
Besides, he also asked relevant agencies and local authorities to expedite expenditure procedures to support the production area damaged. The health sector checked water quality activity to guide people using clean water.
