The VND150 billion (US$6.6 million) factory was built on an area of 4.2 hectares at the Tra Kha Industrial Zone in Bac Lieu city. It has provided employment for about 2,000 people.

As designed, the factory has a capacity of manufacturing five million products per year, targeting US$20-30 million in export revenues in the initial years of operation.

According to Vinatex Deputy General Director Pham Phu Cuong, the Bac Lieu factory has been equipped with modern technologies and a production line meeting the quality requirements for exports and domestic consumption, contributing to completing the group’s ODM supply chain and taking advantage of the opportunities brought about by the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Bac Lieu provincial People’s Committee said that the Vinatex factory coming into operation would contribute to boosting the provincial economic growth as well as creating jobs and reducing poverty in the locality.
