My Tho city People's Committee holds meeting with enterprises

On Agust 15,  My Tho city People's Committee held meeting with enterprises and tourism households in the city. Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Duc attended this meeting.

According to report, My Tho city has 56 hotels, boarding houses, 160 tourist boats and 200 rowing boats  to meet the need of 1,500 visitors each day. Most of facilities are equiped by private and associating with enterprises to to exploit tourism. Tourists coming to My Tho city mainly visit ecotourism in Thoi Son island and Vinh Trang pagoda with an average number of visitors over 1 million tourists each year.

Speaking at the meeting, enterprises and tourism households have appreciated the effort of the provincial departments as well as My Tho city in investing in infrastructure for tourism such as creating favorable conditions for investors and enterprises to invest in the tourism sector ...

However, My Tho city needs further strengthen the promotion, tourism promotion and developing tourism community in oder to develop tourism. In addition, enterprises and tourism households suggested that the function need regularly to inspect and handle violations in the field of tourism, etc... in order to better meet the need of visitors
