Enterprises are awaiting for new opportunities

Year 2016 is considered as the year of profound economic integration because Vietnam has signed and implemented several economic agreements. In the overall picture, the business community in the province should take suitable steps to adapt to the nation's flow as a whole. Of course, each enterprise will have its own expectations.

Commenting on the general economic picture, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thong, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment said that according to the forecast, the socio-economic situation of the country in general and the province in particular will recover faster in 2016. Reducing loans' interest rates along with the Investment Law 2014, the Enterprise Law 2014, the guideline decrees and circulars to become feasibly effective have contributed to promoting investment and consumption; domestic and foreign markets tend to recover in a more positive direction.

However, the difficulties of economic development are still large and contain many risks and challenges, especially the risks of geopolitics and unpredictable changes in the financial market and oil price. Concurrently, the formation of the ASEAN Community, the signing and implementation of the free trade agreement (FTA) and TPP will create several important conditions for economic development. However, this also creates huge challenges, notably in market development, and increases competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.

Under such circumstances, speaking to enterprises, Mr. Le Van Nghia, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee appreciated the efforts to overcome difficulties as well as to contribute positively to the socio-economic development of enterprises in the province in 2015. He suggested that enterprises should have their own suitable business strategies, restructure their business, enhance their ability and cooperation for investment; and support highly community involvement, strengthen solidarity, care for life of employees and build up business culture.

In the management perspective, according to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thong, one of the important measures in the coming period is to set up more flexible and easily accessible investment and business environments, reduce unofficial costs so as to create fair competitions among businesses. Accordingly, the province should focus on amendments and supplements of its investment incentive policy in the direction of solving the needs of businesses, meeting both the local budget balance and the requirement of provincial socio-economic development as well as the new regulations. Continuing to reform the administrative procedures in the investment area, business registration, land lease, environment and taxation; simultaneously reviewing and eliminating administrative procedures of production and business activities which are no longer in line with new regulations.

Besides, the departments and localities have to actively collect and survey opinions from the Business Association, the business and entrepreneur community; organize meetings and dialogue among all levels, branches and enterprises to grasp the difficulties and obstacles in order to support, to promptly solve and to create favorable conditions for businesses and production activities. Concurrently, they should timely commend and award achievements of enterprises. They need to provide update information for businesses on both domestic and foreign markets; assessing the direct impact to Vietnam when participating in the FTA and TPP with both opportunities and challenges, etc...
