Season-end pineapple is scarce

According to Tan Phuoc district Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the local has formed a pineapple-growing area with 16,000 hectares as the largest area of the province, concentrating in My Phuoc commune, Tan Lap 1 commune, Tan Lap 2 commune, Phu My commune, Tan Hoa Thanh commune, etc… 

 

Traders have agreed to buy pineapple at 9,000-10,000 VND per kilogram, an increase of almost double in comparision with the same period last year. With this price, the prodution value of each hectare planted pineapple gets 100 million VND, in which famer profits by 50-60 percent of the total value.

From the beginning of year until now, famers harvested nearly 13,500 hectares of pineapple with the average yield by 19,6 tons per hectare and 263,000 tons of pineapple trade to meet the need of consumer demand and export process.

 

According to famers, because pipeaple is on season-end so productivity as well as output is low. It does not meet the need of market so price of pipeapple increase highly nearly record level.
